Aperto Networks has added support for 3.65 GHz and 4.9 GHz frequency bands to its PacketMAX solution for delivering Fixed WiMAX broadband wireless services in the United States.
The company's Fixed WiMAX solution now includes support for 5.8 GHz, 5.4 GHz, 5.1 GHz, 4.9 GHz, 3.65 GHz, 3.5 GHz, and 3.3 GHz bands.
"By extending PacketMAX support to 3.65 GHz, Aperto has given another practical option for service providers who do not own licensed spectrum," said Emmy Johnson, Founder and Principal Analyst at Sky Light Research.
"Smaller ISPs are able to cost-effectively compete head-to-head with larger providers, by taking advantage of WiMAX in frequencies like the 3.65 GHz spectrum. These types of strategic offerings are vital to regional service providers who want to leverage the benefits of WiMAX," she said.
Aperto also announced that its Mobile WiMAX solution supports 2.3 GHz, 2.5 GHz, 3.3 GHz, 3.5 GHz and 3.8 GHz. The company claims that PacketMAX offers the widest frequency support in the WiMAX ecosystem globally.
The company's comprehensive WiMAX Solutions Ecosystem (ApertoWiSE) of products, services, and tools helps customers quickly and profitably roll out WiMAX-based services.
