RFID developer recruits former Zarlink exec

LONDON — Innovision Research and Technology plc (Cirencester, England) has appointed former Zarlink and Dialog Semiconductor executive, Dr Stephen Morris, as chief technology officer.

Dr Morris has experience in complex mixed-signal IC and EDA developments; and spearheading R&D activities for ultra-low power, complex RF AMS, CMOS SoCs, particularly for applications in medical telemetry. He joins the company from Nanotech Semiconductor (Bristol, England), where he worked on fibre-optic CMOS IC developments for networking and consumer applications.

Dr Morris also has 25 years of significant specialist experience in DSP systems, digital radio architectures, analog CMOS design and mixed-signal ICs for telecoms, data and satellite communication systems.

He is a visiting Professor at the University of Westminster, has authored nearly 30 scientific papers and contributed to several books on IC design and data converters and is a Fellow of the IET (formerly IEE).
